An Image Of Jim McCool Owner of McCools of Bon AirMcCools of Bon Air has been a staple in Bon Air for approximately 28 years. Generations of Bon Air and other Richmond metropolitan area residents use McCools for all of their framing needs. But a little kept secret is that McCools does art restoration and repair and has been doing so for a number of years. McCools can repair damage, restore luster and touch up repaired areas on your old oil paintings. It can recanvas oil paintings where the original canvas has rotted or become brittle. Art restorations take approximately four to six weeks to complete, so Holiday orders should be made early.

McCools custom framing uses all acid resistant and archival materials so that your cherished art work will remain as beautiful as the first day it was framed for years to come. We have hundreds of framing and matting choices and can assist you to ensure that the framing will enhance your art work to its best advantage.

Besides custom framing McCools does dry mounting of photographs, diplomas, certificates and other speciality items. It can laminate items between two pieces of clear plastic to protect newspaper articles, or old documents.

McCools frames needlepoint, and has framed such items as computer boards, porcelain cups and bowls, guns, swords, military memorabilia and metals, uniforms and flags. In fact the largest item McCools has framed is the United States flag that flew over the Pentagon during September 11. This framed flag now is hanging at the Virginia State Police Headquarters.

Besides the large following of loyal residential customers, McCools does work for the Virginia Senate, Delta Airport Consultants, Village Bank, Ukrops Super Markets, The Virginia State Police Association, The Virginia State Police and Collegiate School as well as a host of other businesses.
